On Saturday the 14th May Larne one Larne AC member Sinead-Marie Mcallister took on the Slieve Donard mountain race.

A 10km 850m race with three check points but an unmarked course each runner can choose their own route for this race. Her first time doing this race and being a little apprehensive knowing the speed others would manage it in she jumped at the chance when invited with others to go up on Wednesday to race it. With absolutely no breeze even on the summit a shock to the system the sudden heat Sinead reached the summit in 59:06 very pleased to be under the hour (just) and descended in a time of 33:09. Knowing she missed a faster trail in the forest section from race day means next time hopefully she can take a few more minutes off her overall finish time which was 1:32 coming in 110th out of 154 and 5th in FO category but 17th in the females
