Belfast City Marathon 2023
Congratulations to all our full marathoners and relay runners, who put in amazing efforts and once again did themselves and our club proud.
Podium spot for Mixed Team
There was great excitement waiting for the relay results to be confirmed as the mixed team of Jordan Heron, Phelim McAllister, Sean McAllister and Juliane Keane were well in contention for a top spot. The team finished in a combined time of 2:43:56, earning them a fabulous 3rd place on the podium. (9th overall)
George McKinley completed the full marathon in a cracking sub 3hr time of 2:57:02. George finished 85th male and 9th in his age category.(45-49)
Mark Todd ran his socks off to finish in a sub 4hr time of 3:58. Way to go Mark!
John Steele, having put in the long hours of training for this event, unfortunately had to pull out on race day due to injury.
Top 10 spot for female team
Our Female A team, made up of Emma McKeen, Charlotte English, Niamh McLaughlin and Helen Stirling achieved a top 10 spot as 9th fastest all female team in a time of 3:39:12. ( 137 overall) Great achievement ladies!
The male team of Mark Todd, William Thompson, Paul Tilson, Phelim McAllister and Sean Mcallister were 15th fastest male team with a combined time of 3:14:58 (41st overall). Well done as Phelim and Sean had just completed their first leg with the mixed team.
The ladies B team made up of Laura Brennan, Pearl Henry, Diane Hawthorne, Marie Hagan and Catherine Todd completed the race in 4:26:16, 81st female team (1134 overall) Super running once again ladies!
There had been a few injuries in the weeks coming up to the marathon so a big thank you to Billy Thompson for his time and enthusiasm in organising the relay teams. A great day for Larne AC.
