Larne Athletic Club is Larne’s leading athletics club, we are a friendly club who welcomes all levels of ability be it for competition or keeping fit.
Well done to all our runners who took part in East Coast’s 10K on Sunday. A special mention to Erin Millar who won the female race and to Will Barham and Phil Rennix who placed 2nd and 3rd in the men’s race. Thank you also to East Coast Athletic Club for inviting us along to take part in the event.

On Sunday 15th February 2026 one member of LAC attended The National X country track in Abbotstown, Dublin to compete in National and intermediate X country championship.Sean Mcallister took part in the Masters and intermediate race, 6 brutal laps of 1000 metres of very boggy, swampy terrain 6 km in a time of 31.27 seconds.Sean placed 14th in Ireland in his category and 1st in his age group from N.ireland.

Born to Run , Antrim CastleLarne AC members Michelle Mcintosh and Diane Hawthorne took part in Born to Run’s Antrim Castle 10k.
Conditions turned out better than expected because it didn’t rain! Underfoot there was a variety of terrain including mud, more mud, gravel, tarmac and puddles like lakes. It was a very enjoyable, mud spattered run.!!

Trim 10 MileOn Sunday 1st February Martan Keane competed in the Trim 10 miler in Co. Meath. Martan had a strong run finishing in a time of 1:01:32. Well done!

On Sunday the 1st of February 2026, Two LAC members attended Ormeau Park, Belfast for the Malcolm Cup X Cross Country race a three lap course just short of 4 miles in very boggy conditions The Open and Masters race was combined, a field of 150 runners Jordan Heron was 10th overall in a fantastic time of 22.19 next was Sean Mcallister 72nd ,5th Masters in a time of 27.20.

On Sunday the 11th of January 2026,Three LAC members travelled to Mallusk for The Mathieson Cup X Country race.The first race was the female and male veterans, a 3 lap 6 km race, conditions were very wet and muddy on an undulating course, 169 runners finished the race, Sean Mcallister ended up 36th position 9th male in a time of 26.07 some 2 minutes 10 seconds quicker than last year, Sinead-marie Mcallister was next up 78th position in a time of 29.19. The next race was the Senior men 8 km 4 laps, Jordan Heron in a field of 179 finishers with a fantastic time of 29.34 and ending up in 21st position.
