Sinead back taking on the hills!During March and April, Sinead-marie Mcallister was back in action taking on the hills. The first two consecutive race weekends were both set in glorious weather with a welcome return to wearing the race vest.First up was the Spud Run in Glenariff, held by Glens Runners on the 8/3 covering 5.80miles 1200ft. Sinead finished in a time of 1:05 and was 8th female, 69th overall. Next up on 15/3 was Slieve Gullion, 3.9miles 1115ft. Sinead completed this race in a time of 43:28 and was 5th in the FV35 category and 73rd overall, a bit faster than last year. With a dramatic change in weather, with strong winds and rain saw the Pat Dunbar race on 29/3 of 8miles 2240ft. Sinead set a time of 1:40, 8th female and 78th overall, same time as last year.On Saturday the 12th April, Sinead headed up the coast in search for giants and instead just found hills, plenty of them! Taking on the Giants Causeway 20mile race with 2000ft elevation. The route started down in Carrick-a-rede and then went along the coastline on trails to Ballintoy the Giants Causeway and finishing in West Strand, Portrush. The route was off-road, through trails, two beaches and around cliff edges, through the sea, a technical terrain route and one that took the legs from you. Sinead was using this race as part of her training for Scotland and although felt her time could have been better, running off heavy legs is good training and the scenery worth it. Sinead finished in 113th and a time of 3:40 16th FO.. See MoreSee Less
