On the 30th January Martan Keane and Alan Lockington made the journey to Dublin to take part in the 38th Raheny 5 Mile Road Race. A popular race bringing almost 3500 runners from all over Ireland.
With the race kicking off at 3pm the rain held off making the cold and wind bearable. Unfortunately an error in positioning a turning point on the course added an extra .3 of a mile to the event.
Pushing hard right to the end Martan had an incredible race bringing him across the line with a chip time of 31:22 crossing the 5 mile distance at 29:50.
Alan taking minutes off his 5 mile race time crossing the line with a chip time of 32:12 and went through the 5 mile distance at 30:20.
This has provided both runners a great bench mark to continue working hard for the Larne 10 Mile Road Race.
