On Saturday 4th December 13 members of Larne AC travelled to Belfast to race in the Seeley Cup. The prestige event organised by Willowfield Harriers was celebrating its 39th year this year and is run in the beautiful surrounds of Ormeau Park attracting all the top runners from all over the country.
On a cold afternoon with a slight head wind on the embankment the LAC contingent all put in a great performance pulling out some excellent times with a string of PB`s thrown into the mix which is a brilliant result for all the hard work they have put-in in training over this past year.
First home for the Club in a field of 764 finishing runners was Jordan Heron recovering from a bad cold didn`t hinder his finishing time of 34:56.
Second home with another great run was Martan Keane in 37:35 followed by Alan Lockington returning to full fitness after his marathon exploits with a PB time of 38:31. John Steele was next home for the Club putting in an amazing run to finish in 38:50 a massive PB and great reward for all the hard work John has put in over this last year. Finishing off the five sub 40`s for the Club with a great steady run of 39:46 was Billy Thompson.
