Sunday the 21st of August saw another great turnout for Larne AC at ‘Storming the Castle’ 10K in Carrick. A festival atmosphere and great support along the course, topped off with delicious refreshments in Shaftsbury Park and entertainment in Ownies Bar.
Out of a field of 700 competitors, Larne AC’s Jordan Heron ran a cracking race to cross the finish line in 4th position overall. Jordan should also be congratulated for achieving a new PB of 33:39. Fantastic result!
Next home for the club was Martan Keane in another superb time of 37:33 and 21st place. Lee Clements also had a fast run finishing in 42:29 and 69th place.
Juliane Keane was first female home in 88th position and 6th place female. A PB time of 43:46 also secured Juliane the female Vet 50 category prize.

Congratulations to Michelle Macintosh who was 3rd lady home for the club achieving a PB of 55:35 ( 386th). Diane Hawthorne also had a great race, almost under the hour in a time of 1:00:47(494th).
Well done to ladies Teresa Evans and Senga Craig who completed the course in times of 1:06:23(569h) and 1:16:39(644th).
Last but not least, a big well done to Catherine Todd, who not letting a broken wrist force her to miss out on the action, took on the role of tail runner and encouraged the final competitors to the finish line in a time of 1:36:28 (683rd)
Thank you to Seapark AC for organising such a fabulous event!
