On Saturday 15th May Thomas Tosh Craig took to the start line along with 130 other runners to participate in the ATLAS Running ‘Last one standing’ ultra race.
In the grounds of Florida Manor Estate, Killinchy, the runners started at 12 midday and had to complete loops of the estate over road and trails.
Each loop covered 4.18 miles and had to be completed within 1 hour and the runners had to be on the start line again on the hour to complete the next loop.
Thomas completed 37 loops, 37 hours, equating to 155 miles, an outstanding achievement as he sustained an injury to his lower leg on loop 4 but after training hard for this event, his strength and determination wasn’t going to let it stop him.
Thomas finished in 6th position with a new PB. A massive well done to him and his support crew and also thanks to Atlas Running for organising such a great event in these challenging times.
